Classification: Rosso Verona IGT - Barrique aged in wood. Alcohol content 14.50% Description: A full-bodied red wine with an intense and brilliant ruby color. On the nose, the characteristic aromas of black cherries and ripe berries with a hint of vanilla from the aging in oak barrels. On the palate, it is ripe and fruity, a complex expression of the fine red grapes of Verona and Valpolicella: Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, and other red grapes. A well-structured and easy-drinking wine. Characteristics: In the March following the harvest, the new vintage is macerated with the skins from the production of fine wines of Verona. This is done according to the well-established Veronese technique of "Ripasso," which enhances the olfactory sensations and structure of Verona red wines. A further aging for 12 months in oak barrels gives it further characteristics of superior complexity. Vineyards of Origin: Produced in selected hilly locations in the Province of Verona and south of Lake Garda. Harvest: Traditional, hand-picked in small crates. Soil: Dark with little clay, mixed texture with rocky disintegration, with an almost neutral pH. Aging/Refinement: After fermentation and separation from the heavy lees, the Rosso Verona IGT Barricato is aged for a long time as required by the production regulations in large barrels with frequent and gentle batonage for a few months to favor the extraction of the varietal aromas and then at least 3 months in bottle before being released for sale. This strong wine, with an impressive structure and a good alcohol content, lends itself perfectly to aging for several years, improving its structure without fearing the signs of aging.
