Founded in 2005 by Luca Gnecchi Ruscone, L.G.R eyewear is entirely hande made in Italy by three artisanal families who build each frame from start to finish using traditional methods of production in order to deliver an authentic and noble product. L.G.R preserves Italian values and heritage through the hard work of people who have spent their lives specializing in this meticulous line of craftsmanship: the result is a genuine product that translates excellence through passion and authenticity. When Luca Gnecchi Ruscone decided to accompany his grandfather, Raffaello Bini, to Asmara with the purpose of recovering his family’s belongings, little did he imagine that this trip would initiate a new venture. While sorting out his grandfather’s belongings, Luca’s attention was driven to various pairs of eyewear, which stood on Ottica Bini’s counters. Starting with this discovery, Luca inquired his grandfather about these frames: as a result, he was forwarded to an Italian artisanal family which had been elaborating these timeless pieces of eyewear for over 50 years. In 2005, Luca Gnecchi Ruscone commissioned, through traditional artisanal techniques, an authentic reproduction of these frames: everyone who came in contact with the first pairs of L.G.R sunglasses was instantly captivated.
