Imbotex SRL was founded in 1955 in Cittadella in the North East of Italy and is a leading manufacturer of natural, recycled and technological textile paddings.

The search for new generation high-tech fibers and innovative blends has given rise to exclusive paddings. These blends are created using patented production processes that offer leading-edge characteristics in terms of wearability, comfort and sustainability. The whole collection offers a range of excellent alternatives to down and assure washability due to an exclusive chlorine-free process, which is benign to both animals and the environment.

SUSTAINABILITY

The concept of Circular Economy responds to the desire for sustainable development, in the context of the growing pressure of production and consumption on the world’s resources and environment. Imbotex sees the transition from a Linear to a Circular Economy as the only solution in terms of safeguarding the planet and providing the economic sustainability that offers a new opportunity in terms of competitiveness. This has led Imbotex SRL to take concrete action in rethinking its processes, intentions and supply chain relations; the company aims to offer responsible paddings, encouraging the reduction of resource consumption as virgin raw materials, water and energy. Sustainability and recycling have always been a core part of the company’s DNA. In the past, they collected discarded materials from local textile companies in order to create fillings for mattresses, and the production cycle always involved the collection of the production scraps and their reuse in order to avoid waste.

In 2019 Imbotex SRL founded a new initiative, Imbotex Lab, focused on the Circular Economy concept, using a patented process based on innovative technologies divided into three steps:

• Collection of discarded virgin material scraps from production, then sorted into different colours;

• Transformed through a mechanical process into very fine fibers;

• Blended with recycled polyester to create the padding.

The entire process is mechanical and does not involve any toxic chemicals, it is also less impactful in terms of energy consumption, waste production, water usage and CO2 emissions.
