Frank&Frank
Marcella Molinini and Roberto De Gregorio are the designers gave life to the project thanks to mix their respective skills; fashion design and visual design.
They believe in the charm of cartography and cultivate this mission starting from their decades of experience.
Always curious and passionate about reinterpreting city maps as urban creatures, geometries, colors, labyrinths, cultures and spaces as carriers of emotions, they propose a new visions of the places in which we live.
Drawing the city is an artistic process of reduction from the real image to an almost abstract structure: the result is a mix of satellite technologies and manual experience, making each piece numbered, unique and unrepeatable.
The "vegetable tanned" leather maps are cut and engraved using modern laser technologies.
“Vegetable tanning” uses vegetable tannins, obtained from flowers, roots, trunk and bark of trees. The extraction of these natural substances occurs in such a way as not to damage the woody heritage because they are waste from wood processing.
Free from chromium, metals and synthetic chemicals, it is such a natural product that it can be appreciated and recognized for its small marks, scent, veins and color nuances.
The Frank&Frank showroom is in the heart of Roman Turin and the name of the brand is inspired by the dreamlike film "Kalamari Union" by one of the most famous Finnish directors, Aki Kaurismaki.
