Type of soil: medium-textured, slightly calcareous.
Geographic position of the Vineyards: municipality of Rocca San Giovanni (CH), selected vineyards in the scope of the Quality pro-ject that Cantina Frentana implements from 1999; most suited hills ovelooking the Trabocchi coast with a Southern, South-Eastern aspect.
Harvest: handmade and late; second, third decade of October.
Vinification: soft pressing; extended maceration with temperatu-re peaks of about 30°C, in order to allow the complete extraction of colour, tannins and aromatic precursors.
Maturation and aging: the wine is aged in fine French oak barri-ques for about 14 months, during which the wine evolves towards its maturity. A further rest in the bottle completes the process.
Technical description: Deep ruby red colour, with violet shades. The nose reveals a great complexity of smells, among which spicy and balsamic notes, together with ripe berries, cherry jam, black cherries preserved in alcohol and violet scents.
Lifespan of wine: if properly stored, this wine keeps its integrity for 10 or more years.
