BARBERA D'ASTI DOCG 2023

A very ancient vine, however the first document on Barbera d'Asti DOCG is found in a 17th century document preserved in the town hall of Nizza Monferrato in Piedmont. In 1798 it officially entered the list of Piedmontese vines when the first Ampelography was drawn up by the Agricultural Society of Turin, in which it is written about Barbera: "It is a very well-known vine and one of the main bases of the wines of the Asti area and lower Monferrato, where it is indigenous and has been cultivated for a very long time". DOC designation since 1970, DOCG obtained in 2008.
